Position: Technical Product Manager – Data Platform (MDM, Observability, Marketplace)

Responsibilities

Technical Product Managers at U.S. Bank oversee the strategic product management for an assigned technical product line(s) in support of the Enterprise organization’s goals and market needs. They engage with key stakeholders to define, document, and prioritize features; ensure delivery of marketable capabilities for all U.S. Bank engineering teams while collaborating with agile teams.

  • Align the strategic vision with cross‑functional stakeholders to shape outcome‑based product roadmap, product risk, investment areas, and success measures.
  • Integrate technical product outcomes to align with Enterprise and Portfolio objectives.
  • Drive product development with ownership of backlog and actively engage cross‑functional stakeholders to enable faster speed to market.
  • Manage across Enterprise users to define and deliver product performance goals (e.g., outcomes, customer experience).
  • Own all engagement for the assigned technical portfolio regarding the SDLC, including adoption and collaboration.
  • Develop, analyze, monitor, and report on performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Leverage OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) to drive roadmap priorities.
Key Areas of Focus
  • Master Data Management (MDM):
    Enhancing how core data—such as customer information—is defined, standardized, and managed across systems.
  • Data Marketplace:
    Supporting the delivery of curated data products through an internal marketplace to improve data accessibility and reuse.
  • Observability:
    Improving visibility into data pipelines to ensure reliability, completeness, and performance of data across the platform.
  • Platform Tooling & Integration:
    Partnering with engineering and product peers to assess and integrate tools, vendors, and capabilities that support platform needs.
Qualifications
  • Minimum qualification:

    Technical product management experience.
  • Preferred:
    Expertise understanding interdependencies across product systems and the ability to design solutions aligned to business outcomes and metrics.
  • Strong technical acumen with ability to understand product architecture and investment trade‑offs.
  • Experience defining customer needs using product discovery practices (personas, journey mapping, etc.).
  • Proven collaboration with engineering teams to execute product vision and roadmap.
