Job ObjectiveResponsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the carpet and common areas throughout the campus and ensuring that visitors, residents, families, and staff have a positive impression.
Responsibilities and Duties- Provide consistent & quality work to the residents and staff
- Follow job routines and instructions according to the assigned schedule.
- Maintain inventory for daily needs & notify supervisor of supply issues
- Assist in keeping all common areas neat, clean and safe
- Replace light bulbs
- Follow the daily schedule to ensure all tasks are accomplished in a timely manner
- Must be able to operate and maintain carpet care machinery
- Vacuum, spot clean and shampoo common area rugs and carpets
- Sweep, scrub, mop, wax and polish floors
- Clean common areas (party room, fitness center, laundry room, hallways, elevator areas), offices and other assigned areas
- Clean and restock restrooms
- Dust, clean and polish furniture and woodwork; polish metal work
- Empty waste receptacles and clean trash room
- Wash windows, walls and doors
- Clean and adjust shades and blinds
- Minimum 1 year carpet cleaning experience
- Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in the resident’s best interest.
- Ability to motivate oneself and work independently
- Ability to be flexible and to work with other staff and residents
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals
- Good work ethic
- Maintains confidentiality
- Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak and understand English.
- Bend and squat to the floor to pick up debris, trash containers, and to use cleaning tools and products.
- See objects within 35 feet to monitor work areas.
- Interpret colors to read warnings, labels, wires, etc.
- Move, push, pull and/or lift objects weighing 10 to 25 pounds.
- Use hands and arms for simple grasping, pushing and pulling to sweep, mop, use containers of cleaning solution/chemicals.
- Perform tasks requiring actions of muscles or groups of muscles to walk, stoop, bend, lift, and to carry objects.
- Walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Speak clearly and make self understood in face-to-face interactions.
- Hear normal sounds and voices with some background noise to receive verbal instructions, answer telephones, communicate with others.
Works indoors in a climate-controlled environment majority of the time.
Working HoursShifts are generally assigned but the employee must have the ability to work various shifts, weekends, holidays, evenings and/or overnights. This position will be on a rotating schedule which includes weekends.
