Position: MIG Welder – Structural Fabrication and Assembly
Responsibilities- Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, such as frames for assembly, using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics, and work from sketches or verbal instructions
- Perform free‑hand MIG welding
- Carry out complex assembly of machines
- Conduct machining to complete welding tasks
- Assist in developing and building jigs and fixtures
- Use basic hand tools such as tape measure, squares, drill, and grinder
- Apply basic computer skills to access drawings on a computer
- Assist other departments as needed
- Co‑ordinate activities with other job classifications
- Follow safe work practices and all environmental and health & safety policies and procedures
- Read and understand shop orders and bill of materials (BOMs)
- Understand how the tools and materials replenishment system operates
- Understand the KanBAN system
- High School Diploma or GED
- Able to demonstrate a successful MIG weld
- Able to complete a fabrication sample
- Basic mathematical skills
Working Hours – Monday through Friday, 5:45 am to 2:15 pm
