Overview
As a Software Engineer – Lead, you will spearhead the development, execution, and testing of customized software in a highly regulated environment. The role requires a profound technical understanding of embedded software, thorough knowledge of the aerospace development process, and a passion for developing people and teams. You will lead a technical team of engineers in software development and testing, pioneering innovative solutions to solve unique customer challenges.
Responsibilities- Lead, train, and mentor a team of software development and test engineers to resource, plan, and execute engineering activities to meet customer requirements.
- Develop embedded, micro‑controller software/firmware for avionic systems using C and assembly.
- Manage software development processes in accordance with DO‑178B planning, requirements traceability, coding standards, and verification procedures.
- Drive schedules, optimize development activities and resources, and remove obstacles.
- Develop requirements from customer needs, occasionally with minimal technical definition.
- Oversee software development and testing to ensure engineering solutions are of the highest quality and meet organizational goals.
- Proficiency in embedded C, microcontroller, and firmware development.
- Strong skills in software engineering, development, and team leadership.
- Experience with C RTOS, embedded systems, and DO‑178 aerospace standards.
- 7‑8+ years of software engineering experience, managing engineering projects and teams in a regulated industry.
- Strong testing and debugging skills.
- BS or MS in software engineering or a related degree.
- Experience with aircraft systems such as ARINC 429, MIL‑STD‑1553, RTCA DO‑178/DO‑254, MIL‑STD‑461 / MIL‑STD‑810 / DO‑160.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of DOORS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Capability of handling multiple details simultaneously and easily moving between strategic and tactical work.
This position is located in Eden Prairie, MN and is 100% onsite.

Pay & BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 – $70.00/hr.
