Operations Manager – Substation Construction

Salary: Up to $150,000 base salary + performance bonus of up to 100% of base salary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager – Substation Construction to lead and oversee the successful execution of electrical substation construction projects.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving safety, project execution, productivity, quality, schedule performance, client satisfaction, and profitability across the operation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical construction, utility infrastructure, and substation projects, with a proven track record of leading field teams and delivering complex projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

• Lead construction operations across multiple substation projects, ensuring safety, schedule, quality, productivity, and profitability

• Direct and develop project managers, superintendents, foremen, and field teams.
• Manage workforce, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and resources to meet project demands.
• Monitor project performance, budgets, schedules, and margins; proactively address risks and issues.
• Build strong relationships with utilities, clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Drive operational improvements, standardization, and best practices across the business.
• Support estimating, preconstruction, project handoffs, forecasting, and business development.
• Promote a culture of accountability, safety, quality, and continuous improvement

• 7+ years of experience in electrical construction, utility construction, or a related field.
• Significant experience with electrical substation construction

• Proven experience managing multiple construction projects, crews, or operational teams.
• Strong understanding of substation construction and electrical infrastructure.
• Experience managing project schedules, budgets, manpower, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with project managers, superintendents, and field personnel.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety requirements and OSHA standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel regularly to active project sites.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred, but relevant experience will be considered.

• Base Salary: Up to $150,000
• Performance Bonus: Up to 100% of base salary
• Maximum Annual Compensation Opportunity: Up to $300,000 based on achievement of company and individual performance objectives
• 100% Insurance paid for individual & family by employer.
