About the role ChargePoint is seeking a Staff Hardware Systems Design Engineer to join our team. In this position, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative hardware solutions for our electric vehicle charging systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of hardware and software components.

What you'll do
  • - Design and develop hardware systems for electric vehicle charging solutions.
  • - Collaborate with software engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.
  • - Conduct testing and validation of hardware designs to meet performance and safety standards.
  • - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the team.
  • - Participate in design reviews and contribute to project planning and execution.
Requirements
  • - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • - Minimum of 7 years of experience in hardware design and development.
  • - Proficiency in hardware design tools such as Altium, Cadence, or similar.
  • - Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles.
  • - Experience with embedded systems and microcontroller programming.
  • - Knowledge of power electronics and thermal management techniques.
  • - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Nice to have
  • - Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • - Familiarity with automotive standards and regulations.
  • - Experience with high-power charging systems.
  • - Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, or RS-232.
