We are working with a growing manufacturing company that has an immediate opening for an Estimator with experience in electrical or mechanical estimating. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in power distribution equipment, electrical manufacturing, or industrial systems who enjoys working with technical drawings, costs, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for switch gear, transformers, power panels, control assemblies, and related electrical distribution products.
- Review customer specifications, one-lines, schematics, drawings, and technical requirements.
- Identify components and materials and obtain accurate supplier pricing.
- Estimate labor hours for assembly, wiring, testing, and integration.
- Request supplier quotes, verify lead times, and evaluate vendor options.
- Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Prepare customer-ready proposals, including pricing, scope, clarifications, and exclusions.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Project Management to ensure accurate estimates.
- Maintain historical cost data and pricing models.
- Identify potential cost, scope, and technical risks and recommend solutions.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in electrical estimating, electrical manufacturing, mechanical estimating, or power distribution equipment.
- Knowledge of switch gear, transformers, power panels, or industrial electrical systems preferred.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, one-lines, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of electrical components and industrial power equipment.
- Experience with estimating tools, ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and communication skills.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical degree, electrical certification, or related technical education preferred.
