The Data Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s data architecture to ensure data integrity, scalability, and accessibility. This role defines how data is stored, consumed, integrated, and managed across systems, aligning with business objectives and technology standards.
The architect will also leverage modern cloud data platforms, including Snowflake, to support advanced analytics and scalable data solutions.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain enterprise data models, schemas, and standards.
- Define data flows and integration patterns between systems, including cloud-native platforms such as Snowflake.
- Oversee logical and physical database design for performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with DBAs on optimization, capacity planning, and Snowflake performance management.
- Establish data quality, security, and compliance standards.
- Implement metadata management and maintain a data dictionary.
- Design and optimize ETL/ELT processes for data warehousing and analytics.
- Apply hands‑on experience with Snowflake ingestion and transformation capabilities.
- Ensure interoperability between on‑premises and cloud systems.
- Work with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions.
- Ensure data architecture meets performance SLAs and security requirements.
- Implement encryption, access controls, and audit mechanisms across traditional DBMS and Snowflake environments.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, including cloud, big data, and AI/ML, for potential adoption.
- Recommend improvements to existing data architecture, including Snowflake optimization and new cloud capabilities.
