Job Summary

The Janitor (Facilities Maintenance Specialist) is responsible for general duties associated with daily maintenance and operation of one or more facilities.

• Cleaning, dusting, polishing, washing, drying, stocking, sweeping, and mopping assigned areas or facilities.
• Daily inspection of all common areas and restocking of supplies in break rooms and restrooms.
• Preparation of hot beverages for employees or meetings.
• Care of interior and exterior plants.
• Inventory of all cleaning supplies and notifying supervisors of low levels.
• Placement and removal of signs warning of wet areas or other hazards.
• Cleaning windows inside and outside as directed by a supervisor or as needed.
• Ensuring trash and recycling receptacles are properly placed for daily pick‑up.
• Cleaning dishes in kitchens and placing them in designated storage areas.
• Monitoring the exterior of facilities, gathering and disposing of litter, dead branches, or leaves.
• Performing simple maintenance on equipment and reporting problems to a supervisor.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

• A minimum of eighth grade education.
• Valid driver’s license or motor vehicle operator license.
• Six months related experience.
• Ability to climb steps, kneel, crawl, and carry up to 35 pounds for extended periods of time.

• 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday work schedule.
• Pay based on experience and training.
