AI Engineer; Junior

This role will be hybrid (3 days onsite) at any of the client locations. There are locations in CO, IL, IN, MI, MN, NC, OH, PA, TX, WI, and WV.

The role will be a contract position through the end of 2026 with the intention to convert to a permanent position at the end of the contract. The conversion salary range is $105k - $115k
.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 2-4+ years of software engineering experience
• Basic understanding of API and backend development
• Basic Prompt Engineering & AI Model Integration
• Understanding of AI/ML concepts and agent-based systems
• Knowledge of Cloud fundamentals (GCP preferred – Cloud Run, basics of Azure/AWS)
• Understanding of Dev Ops concepts and cloud deployments

• Prior Banking experience
• Any related certifications

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Jr AI Engineer to build a scalable AI support model, transition Participant Notice to Commercial IT, and deliver GCP agents ready for production in Q4. This role focuses on hands-on development of integrations, APIs, and AI-driven solutions using modern cloud technologies like GCP. The engineer will work on building and supporting AI-enabled applications, learning prompt engineering, and contributing to scalable solutions in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

The role includes supporting AI agents, developing basic prompt patterns, and collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional teams (architecture, cloud, governance) to deliver secure and reliable solutions.

• Develop and support AI-enabled applications, APIs, and automation solutions
• Assist in building AI agents, workflows, and prompt patterns
• Contribute to prototypes and reusable components
• Support backend service and API development
• Assist in implementing event-driven solutions and CI/CD pipelines
