Job DescriptionFull‑Time (1.0) for the 2026‑2027 school year. Salary per collective bargaining agreement, commensurate with experience (range $23.51‑$24.93 per hour). More than one position may be filled from this vacancy announcement.
Responsibilities- Provide social‑emotional, behavioral, and instructional support to all students in all settings.
- Assist with classroom and student support based on Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
- Monitor student behavior as indicated on IEPs and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
- Collaborate with specialists and classroom teachers to deliver specialized instruction, curriculum modification, and classroom accommodations.
- Prepare lesson and related materials as needed.
- Observe and record academic, behavioral, and social data to measure progress.
- Recognize when teaching/learning and behavioral strategies are not successful and seek guidance to adapt assistance.
- Provide verbal support, prompting, redirection, and modeling to help students access curriculum activities.
- Assist students with personal care as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s Degree or successful completion of the Para Pro exam.
- Clear and effective oral and written communication skills with children and adults.
- Experience and willingness to provide direct assistance to students in managing personal care to improve daily life skills.
- Preferred:
Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in a related field. - Other qualifications deemed appropriate by the superintendent.
Salary range: $23.51 to $24.93 per hour, as outlined by the collective bargaining agreement.
