Mechanical Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist Operations/Manufacturing in bringing new equipment, tooling, and technology online through overseeing trial builds under the guidance of Manufacturing Engineers.
• Assist Manufacturing Engineers with process development for the industrialization of new products to achieve program safety, process capability, labor and materials costs, and cycle time targets through the building of prototypes and early release parts.
• Assist Manufacturing Engineer with Continuous Improvement initiatives, which may include recording and tracking of trials and early-stage pass/fail rates, machine performance, and cycle time.
• Document, through writing and photographing, the work performed to be used for reporting, writing and work instruction creation
• Collaborative participation with other departments in facility-wide Safety, Quality, and general waste reduction problem-solving activities
• Assist Operator training

• Has a safety-first mindset; comfortable using PPE for eye, face, hand, arm, and foot protection.
• Has a desire to learn new skills and be a part of a team working to improve every day
• Has the ability and initiative to work independently on assigned tasks
• Has an eye for details and enjoys working with their hands and building things
• Has experience using non-powered hand tools such as wrenches, torque wrenches, screwdrivers, and mallets
• Has experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings; comfortable with both imperial and metric units
• Has experience using basic measurement instruments: rulers, calipers, thermometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and a stopwatch
• Has strong basic math skills
• Has exposure to electronic controlled equipment and robots
• Has experience using MS Excel or similar electronic record-keeping tools
• Is an action-oriented individual with exceptional communication skills
• U.S. Citizenship Required; experience working in an ISO/IATF/AS environment
