The principal responsibility of the Research Scientist II;
Process Development Science is the execution of analytical methods and generation of high-quality analytical data to support Process Development programs. The Research Scientist II will perform testing of biological molecules including proteins, DNA, and RNA using a variety of established analytical techniques. This role provides on-demand analytical support to Process Development teams, enabling program progression through timely delivery of analytical results and technical insight.

The position also supports operational activities associated with RNA development programs.

Responsibilities

  • Execute analytical methods for characterization and testing of biological molecules including proteins, DNA, and RNA.
  • Perform analytical procedures independently including ELISA, cIEF, CE-SDS, HPLC/UPLC, qPCR, PA800, cell-based assays, and other applicable techniques.
  • Generate accurate, high-quality analytical data to support Process Development studies and program milestones.
  • Analyze and interpret analytical results and communicate findings to Process Development teams.
  • Perform assays independently with minimal supervision while maintaining data integrity and quality standards.
  • Enter, verify, and maintain analytical data and laboratory records in accordance with site procedures.
  • Prepare data summaries, technical reports, and presentations to support internal program reviews and customer communications.
  • Support operational activities related to RNA development programs, including methodology, execution, optimization, and coordination of analytical activities.
  • Maintain laboratory organization, equipment readiness, and compliance with applicable procedures.
  • Follow all safety requirements and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Chemistry or related field and a minimum 3 years’ relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in Biology/Chemistry or related field and a minimum 1 year relevant experience, or a Ph.D. in Biology/Chemistry or related field

Other Qualifications

  • Must pass a background check
  • Must pass a drug screen
  • May be required to pass Occupational Health Screening

Pay Range
: $76,000-$95,300/yr.

Education, experience, location and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
