Title: Varsity Boys’ Lacrosse Assistant Coach
Type of Position: Part‑time;
Spring sports season; stipend commensurate with experience (range $3,386‑$5,079)
Location: High School, Hopkinton, Massachusetts

Note: Payment may be contingent upon the athletic season being officially held and may be prorated for a partial season.
The Varsity Boys Lacrosse Assistant Coach works with student‑athletes to teach the fundamentals of the sport, foster physical fitness, and develop skills. The coach models exemplary behavior with teammates, opponents, spectators and officials, promoting social, emotional and physical growth and supporting character development. Emphasis is on continuous improvement, teamwork, diversity, sportsmanship, pride, and work ethic, ensuring a safe, positive and enjoyable experience for student‑athletes.
The assistant coach reports to the Athletic Director and the Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach.
- MIAA Coaching certificate if first serving as an interscholastic coach after July 1, 2005;
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and prior relevant coaching experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience;
- Knowledge of MIAA rules governing athletic activities;
- Ability to motivate student athletes, communicate clearly and effectively, and work with students of differing athletic abilities;
- Commitment to remain current in knowledge of the sport and its coaching strategies;
- Alternatives to the above qualifications that the Athletic Director may find appropriate and in conformity with state and federal statute.
- Supervise and conduct practice and coaching sessions; teach sports techniques, rules, strategies and tactics; inspire love of the sport and help build healthy self‑image and confidence;
- Condition athletes for endurance, strength and agility;
- Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to team members;
- Supervise and provide coaching during matches, meets and contests;
- Observe basic safety guidelines and respond to player injuries with approved first aid;
- Manage uniforms, equipment and school facilities responsibly;
- Assist Varsity Coach as needed;
- Other duties as assigned.
