Job Summary:
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will support general education and special education teachers in creating programming to help students with challenging behaviors find academic and behavioral success. This role involves facilitating functional behavioral assessments, assisting in developing behavior intervention plans (BIPs), and providing training and support to teachers and staff. The BCBA will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the success of all students.
Core Responsibilities
Meaningful Relationships
* Collaborate with team members by working closely with parents, teachers, school psychologists, speech therapists, and other professionals to support the academic and social-emotional development of students.
* Supports school teams with Individualized Education Plans (IEP) meetings as needed to review progress, data, and develop IEP goals.
Engaged Learners
* Monitor student progress by assisting multidisciplinary teams in collecting and analyzing data to monitor the effectiveness of interventions and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
* Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and progress reports, ensuring compliance with district policies and state regulations.
* Stay current with the latest research and best practices in behavior analysis through continuous professional development and certification maintenance.
Adaptive Pathways
* Assist multidisciplinary teams in developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) based on assessment data, and ensure their effective implementation across various school settings.
* Facilitate Functional Behavior Analysis with a multidisciplinary team.
Community Connections
* Develop training materials for and provide professional learning to administrators, teachers, paraprofessionals, and other staff on evidence-based methodologies related to addressing the needs of students displaying challenging behaviors.
* Provide ongoing support to principals, teachers and other staff in the implementation of BIPs. This may include large group training or embedded training through modeling and coaching
Knowledge/Skills
* Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly.
* Ability to be self-directed, to work independently and with teams.
* Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at one time.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with, co-workers, administrators, parents and community members
* Strong skills in written communication, effective communication and rapport with students, parents and other school personnel.
Qualifications:
* Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
* Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
* Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting.
* Strong knowledge of behavior analysis principles and evidence-based practices.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to collect and analyze data to inform decision-making.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities.
* Experience in training and supporting staff in behavior management techniques.
* Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
