Position Summary

The Intervention Teacher provides targeted academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students who require additional assistance to achieve success. Through collaboration with students, families, staff, and community partners, the Intervention Specialist develops and implements individualized interventions that remove barriers to learning and promote student growth. This position is committed to ensuring all students have equitable access to meaningful learning opportunities while embodying the Hoquiam School District pillars.

  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, counselors, specialists, and families to create comprehensive support systems for students.

  • Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, interventions, and supports.

  • Design and implement individualized intervention plans based on student needs, assessment data, and progress monitoring.
  • Differentiate instructional and behavioral supports to meet diverse learning styles, abilities, and circumstances.
  • Utilize evidence-based intervention strategies to improve academic achievement, attendance, behavior, and social-emotional skills.
  • Adapt instructional approaches and intervention methods to support students in various learning environments, including in-person, hybrid, and virtual settings.
  • Assist students in developing goal-setting, self-monitoring, and self-advocacy skills that promote long-term success.
Community Connections
  • Partner with families and community agencies to coordinate services and resources that support student well-being and achievement.
  • Serve as a liaison between school, home, and community stakeholders to strengthen student support networks.
  • Promote family engagement by encouraging participation in the educational process and intervention planning.
  • Connect students and families with appropriate community resources to address academic, behavioral attendance, or social-emotional needs.
  • Support district initiatives that foster a strong connection between schools and the greater Hoquiam community.
Engaged Learners
  • Provide direct academic and behavioral intervention services designed to increase student engagement and achievement.
  • Utilize technology and digital tools to enhance instruction, monitor progress, and support student learning.
  • Collect, analyze, and communicate student performance data to guide intervention decisions and evaluate effectiveness.
  • Monitor and document student progress toward intervention goals and adjust supports as needed.
  • Encourage student ownership of learning by fostering motivation, perseverance, and growth mindset practices.
  • Support the development of executive functioning, organizational, and study skills that contribute to academic success.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements, including Title I/LAP requirements when applicable.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams, student support meetings, and professional learning opportunities.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, ethical conduct, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the building administrator or designee.

Salary

180 Base Salary = $64,335.91 - $

4 Professional Days = $1,429.69 - $2,781.59
