The Hoquiam Fire Department is currently accepting applications for Entry-Level and Lateral Firefighter/Paramedic.
The Hoquiam Fire Department (HFD) is an all-career, all-hazards fire department providing fire suppression and Emergency Medical Services (EMS). We protect the 16.4 sq. miles of city proper. Through mutual aid agreements, we respond to an additional 500 sq. miles for EMS coverage to the county. In 2025, the department responded to 2809 requests for service. These calls include structure fires (commercial and residential), hazardous conditions, smoke investigations, illegal burning, Haz-Mat, etc.
HFD operates out of two strategically placed fire stations within the city limits of Hoquiam. Staffing includes two chiefs and 21 firefighters, 15 of which are Paramedics.
2026Salary and Benefits :
$7,029.12 to $8,808.80 per month DoE
Medical, paid time off, and 457 plan

Minimum Qualifications:Minimum 18 years of age
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
