Registered Nurse NICU Program Coordinator

Overview

The Coordinator – Neonatal Program provides leadership and promotes excellence in patient care for neonatal conditions at Del Sol Medical Center. Responsibilities include performance improvement, chart review, gap identification, change implementation, daily rounds, policy and protocol review, nursing education, abstracting high‑risk patient information, registry integrity maintenance, report preparation, and serving as the primary key contact for the facility’s Neonatal Level III program.

• Perform performance improvement activities
• Conduct chart reviews and identify gaps
• Implement changes based on gap analysis
• Lead daily patient rounds
• Review and update policies and protocols
• Facilitate nursing education sessions
• Abstract information from high‑risk patient medical records as needed
• Maintain registry integrity, confidentiality, verification, and updating of information
• Prepare reports upon request
• Serve as the primary key contact for the Neonatal Level III program

• Associate Degree in Nursing with a minimum of three (3) years of NICU nursing experience
• Preferred:
  Bachelor or Master of Science in Nursing with prior NICU Clinical Nurse Coordinator experience

• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or an active compact license
• BLS Certification
• NRP Certification
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• Clinically active and practicing Registered Nurse in neonatal care
• Strong data collection, interpretation, and analysis skills
• Critical thinking applied to process improvement and decision making
• Effective crisis and emergency situation management
• Excellent communication skills
• Leadership of multidisciplinary teams with team‑building emphasis
• Knowledge of general hospital operations
• Computer proficiency (preferred)
