Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY The Certified LPN at North Mississippi Health Services plays a vital role in providing a wide variety of nursing functions to support the medical plan of care, adhering to hospital/departmental policies and procedures. Their responsibilities include patient care, documentation, teaching, and performing IV therapy, ensuring age-appropriate care and maintaining positive relations with patients, families, and medical staff. The LPN must possess problem-solving skills to handle stressful situations and respond to changing patient needs effectively.

FUNCTIONS Patient Care:
- Provides a wide variety of nursing functions to support the medical plan of care in compliance with hospital/departmental policies and procedures. Documentation:
- Assist in maintaining patient records through daily nursing summaries, Medicare charting, acute care charting and accurate medication administration records.
- Contributes to nursing care plan. Teaching:
- Provides patient/family teaching necessary for continuing care during and after discharge. IV Therapy:
- Performs IV therapy utilizing hospital guidelines.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- Education
- Other (Experience) Must meet continuing education requirements as defined. Required
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Required Licenses and Certifications
- LPN
- Licensed Practical Nurse
- State Licensure - CPR
- Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation - Work Experience
- Knowledge
Skills and Abilities - Maintains knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care
- Must complete 24-32 hours orientation MIS computer training.
- Must organize and prioritize work assignments
- Delegates assignments appropriately to nursing assistants
- Assists new employees in their orientation.
- Required to project positive image of the unit to all customers
- Maintains a good working relationship with medical staff, unit personnel and all ancillary departments
