Senior Accountant

Overview

Avo Photonics () is a dynamic contract engineering services company that designs, develops and manufactures custom opto-electronic products for a large customer base. Members of our staff have the opportunity to design, prototype and produce next generation products for a diverse range of markets including environmental, medical, military, industrial, aerospace, and communications.

We seek a diligent, dedicated and meticulous Sr. Accountant who will help to further our success and reputation in the industry through world-class service.

• Oversee the organization’s daily accounting functions, including cash management, A/R, A/P, month-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure accuracy of all transactions so that the company’s financial position is accurately reflected.
• Proactively address issues or anomalies and collaborate with other departments to resolve in a timely manner.
• Enforce internal controls in accordance with Halma’s policy to protect company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist with internal & external audits, ensuring adherence to deadlines and compliance with audit requirements.
• Support budgeting & forecasting processes as needed.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis and prepare reports to inform decision-making, identify trends, and propose strategies for financial optimization.
• Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the accounting staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance financial processes and systems to drive efficiency and accuracy.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
• 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles including supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in Excel & ERP systems, SAP preferred.
• Go-getter, team player attitude with a knack for foresight & proactivity.
• Meticulous attention to detail, along with excellent organizational skills.
• Strong sense of accountability, prioritization, and process ownership.
• Effective problem-solving abilities and flexibility in a dynamic work environment.
