Summary
The Cost Accounting Manager oversees inventory and cost accounting functions within a manufacturing environment, ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting. This role partners closely with operations and finance to support decision-making, maintain strong controls, and drive process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory and cost accounting for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
  • Lead monthly close activities including reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Analyze cost drivers, production variances, and provide actionable insights
  • Ensure accurate COGS reporting and inventory valuation
  • Maintain internal controls and support audit requirements
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations and FP&A
  • Identify and implement process improvements and reporting enhancements
  • Lead and develop accounting staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5-7+ years of cost or inventory accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing costing and inventory processes
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
