Tax Senior | Great Culture, Great Mentorship & A Life Outside of Work
Horsham, PA | Public Accounting
Build Your Tax Career Somewhere You’ll Actually Enjoy Working.
If you’re a few years into public accounting, you’ve probably figured something out already:
The firm you work for matters just as much as the work you’re doing.
You can learn tax almost anywhere. Finding a firm where you can develop technically, work directly with clients, get real mentorship, make great money,
and genuinely like the people you work with is much harder.
Mac Kai West is partnered with an excellent CPA firm in Horsham, PA looking to add a Tax Senior to its growing team.
This is a firm with a younger, down-to-earth culture where people work hard when they need to—but don't believe public accounting needs to consume your entire life.
The people are smart. The work is interesting. The compensation is strong. The work-life balance is legitimate.
And perhaps most importantly,
these are coworkers you could actually become friends with.
You’ll actually know your clients.
Rather than spending your career buried several layers below the client relationship, you'll have opportunities to communicate directly with clients and understand the bigger picture behind the returns you're preparing.
Broad tax experience instead of being put in a box.
The firm values well-rounded tax professionals. You'll get meaningful exposure across HNW individuals, partnerships, privately held businesses, and Trust & Estate work.
Partners who will actually teach you.
You'll work alongside Managers and Partners who want to develop people—not simply review your work and send it back with comments. As you progress, you'll learn planning, advisory work, client management, and eventually the leadership side of public accounting.
A culture built for normal human beings.
Nobody is interested in unnecessary hierarchy or taking themselves too seriously. It's a collaborative, social group with plenty of younger professionals and the kind of coworkers you'd actually want to grab a beer with after work.
Real work-life balance.
Busy season exists. This is public accounting. But there's a major difference between working hard during genuinely busy periods and belonging to a firm where being permanently overworked is treated like a badge of honor.
This isn't that kind of firm.
And they pay well.
You don't need to take a step backward financially to find a better culture and lifestyle.
What You’ll Work OnYou’ll build a broad generalist tax background across a diverse, primarily local client base, including:
- Partnerships and pass-through entities
- Privately held and small-to-midsize businesses
- Tax planning and advisory projects
You’ll prepare and increasingly review more complex returns, communicate directly with clients, research tax issues, assist with planning engagements, and work closely with experienced Managers and Partners.
As your technical ability develops,
your responsibilities will grow with you.
This opportunity is particularly well suited to someone with approximately 2–6 years of public accounting tax experience who wants to accelerate their development without sacrificing their life outside of work.
We’re looking for someone with a foundation in public accounting tax, exposure to individual and/or business returns, strong communication skills, and an interest in developing a broad tax skill set.
You don’t need to have already mastered every area of tax this firm touches.
You need to be smart, curious, good with people, and eager to keep getting better.
CPA completed or in progress is a plus, and the firm will support someone who wants to continue progressing professionally.
