This role has end-to-end ownership of mechanical systems, including the safe and precise delivery of critical chemistries for stripping and etching processes. This role accelerates product time-to-market, improves product quality, robustness, and efficacy, while building a high-performing engineering team capable of meeting the rigorous demands of the semiconductor industry.
Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a high-performing Mechanical Engineering team, including direct reports, contractors, and external partners.
* Own mechanical engineering of complex inter-chamber process chemistry delivery and automation, wafer tooling, and structural frames across the full product lifecycle.
* Ensure designs meet performance, cost, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
* Deliver programs on schedule and within budget while managing risks and engineering changes.
* Partner with Process, Electrical, Software, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Service teams to ensure designs meet specifications, quality and delivery commitments.
* Continuously improve engineering processes, documentation, and workflows.
* Provide senior technical escalation support for released products.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience; or 6+ years with a Master's degree is required. 5+ years of people management experience with direct reports is also required. Experience leading or directly contributing to the design of sophisticated capital equipment is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Proven ability to coach and develop engineering talent, enabling individual growth while building high‑performing, scalable teams.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively to technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Experience contributing to mechanical design across multiple phases of the product development lifecycle.
* Working knowledge of electro-mechanical design architectures.
* Experience integrating design for safety, manufacturing, and service into the development process.
* Experience with FMEA, risk evaluation and RCCA processes.
* Experience designing complex capital equipment; semiconductor wet process equipment preferred.
* Experience with materials and finish selection for use in aggressive operating environments; wet processing chemistries and cleanroom environments preferred.
* Ability to travel up to 10%, as required.
