Mechanical Engineer
Overview
As Manager of Mechanical Engineering, you will lead the design and delivery of wet process wafer equipment that enables advanced semiconductor manufacturing. This role has end‑to‑end ownership of mechanical systems, including the safe and precise delivery of critical chemistries for stripping and etching processes. This role accelerates product time‑to‑market, improves product quality, robustness, and efficacy, while building a high‑performing engineering team capable of meeting the rigorous demands of the semiconductor industry.
Responsibilities- Lead and develop a high‑performing Mechanical Engineering team, including direct reports, contractors, and external partners.
- Own mechanical engineering of complex inter‑chamber process chemistry delivery and automation, wafer tooling, and structural frames across the full product lifecycle.
- Ensure designs meet performance, cost, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Deliver programs on schedule and within budget while managing risks and engineering changes.
- Partner with Process, Electrical, Software, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Service teams to ensure designs meet specifications, quality and delivery commitments.
- Continuously improve engineering processes, documentation, and workflows.
- Provide senior technical escalation support for released products.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience; or 6+ years with a Master’s degree is required. 5+ years of people management experience with direct reports is also required. Experience leading or directly contributing to the design of sophisticated capital equipment is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Proven ability to coach and develop engineering talent, enabling individual growth while building high‑performing, scalable teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Experience contributing to mechanical design across multiple phases of the product development lifecycle.
- Working knowledge of electro‑mechanical design architectures.
- Experience integrating design for safety, manufacturing, and service into the development process.
- Experience with FMEA, risk evaluation and RCCA processes.
- Experience with materials and finish selection for use in aggressive operating environments; wet processing chemistries and cleanroom environments preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 10%, as required.
The expected salary range for this position is $128,000-$188,000, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job‑related factors when determining your pay.
