As a Quality Engineer reporting to the Quality Director, you will be expected to investigate reported quality issues, determine root causes, and develop corrective actions with accountable ownership. You will develop and utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify product and process improvement opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, implementing systemic improvements to improve business processes and enhance customer satisfaction.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of cutting-edge manufacturing systems used in semiconductor fabrication. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative problem solver with strong analytical skills and excellent communication ability. Responsibilities:
Lead cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Field Service) to identify and resolve quality issues in complex electromechanical systems. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as 8D and FMEA. Act as the voice of quality in NPI (New Product Introduction) gate reviews and design decisions. Analyze production and field data to identify trends, drive root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Develop and maintain KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) relevant to the program and company objectives. Maintain and generate reports from quality metrics dashboards. Partner with Supplier Quality and vendors to leverage Failure Analysis learnings in Veeco and customer satisfaction improvement efforts. Summarize Failure Analysis findings to the team and management. Support documentation improvements: SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), drawings, work instructions, inspection plans, etc.
Communicate findings and recommendations clearly across technical and non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience is required. Expertise in quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, 5
Why Analysis, Fishbone/Ishikawa Diagrams, SPC, etc. is required. Capital equipment manufacturing experience is highly preferred.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
