Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's dynamic insurance organization based in the Horsham area, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting key financial initiatives. Responsibilities:

- Prepare and submit quarterly and annual financial statements and required reports in alignment with insurance regulatory guidelines.

- Analyze and compile financial data to ensure the accuracy and compliance of all financial reports.

- Perform account reconciliations to maintain accuracy and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

- Strengthen and maintain internal controls over financial transactions and reporting processes.

- Monitor and ensure compliance with evolving federal, state, and local insurance regulations.

- Support external audits by providing documentation and detailed explanations as needed.

- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by analyzing financial trends and offering actionable insights.

- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

- Participate in special financial projects assigned by leadership to support organizational goals.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably within the insurance industry.

- Strong knowledge of statutory accounting principles and regulatory filing requirements.

- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

- Solid understanding of corporate tax, sales tax, and month-end close processes.

- Experience with general ledger management and creating journal entries.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and present financial data clearly.
