Position: Associate Director, Medical Communications & Scientific Exchange (MCSE) Strategic Execution Lead

Associate Director, Medical Communications & Scientific Exchange (MCSE) Strategic Execution Lead, located in Horsham, Pennsylvania, United States.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the MSL Communications team, including maintenance of trackers, email distribution lists, and communication of software or training updates.
  • Support and test iConnect/CRM functions and serve as subject‑matter expert on Veeva iMedical Knowledge, CRM, CURE, and related platforms.
  • Liaise with Janssen Scientific Affairs (Medical Content Excellence, MISE, JJMC) to ensure timely updates to internal systems for MSL resources.
  • Troubleshoot urgent issues in iMK and CRM in collaboration with MSL Communications leads.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and expanded capabilities of iMK, CRM, and other novel approaches to scientific exchange.
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development to provide training for MSL onboarding and ongoing knowledge gaps in iMK and CRM.
  • Oversee operational support for the J&J publication review tool (JPUBs) and ensure quality assurance of MCSE deliverables.
  • Provide budgeting oversight for MCSE (SOWs, POs, accrual tracking) and prepare portfolio reports for senior leadership.
  • Support additional operational activities within MCSE as required.
  • Spearhead digital‑innovation initiatives for MCSE, gathering evidence on current use and creating a plan to trial and expand digital assets within US Immuno-Medical Affairs.
  • Coordinate with global MAF, other disease‑area strongholds, and cross‑functional teams to develop broadly applicable digital‑innovation strategies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, or related discipline with at least 6 years of medical‑communications experience, or 6 years of related pharmaceutical experience; alternatively, an advanced degree (MS, PhD, Pharm

    D) with at least 4 years of related pharmaceutical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross‑functional environments and partner with scientists, clinicians, academicians, and vendors.
  • Experience with process improvement and operations in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Familiarity with Veeva Systems and the Medical/Legal/Regulatory review process.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, including slide design, scientific accuracy, visual appeal, creativity, and innovative thinking.
  • Detail orientation and strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Rheumatology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Immunology, or related therapeutic areas.
  • Experience in IT, software, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical health‑care compliance for external communication of scientific materials.
  • Knowledge of digital medical strategy and communications.
  • People‑management experience, including vendor management.
Compensation and Benefits

Base pay range: $137,000–$235,750. Eligible for an annual performance bonus per company plan.
