Kelly, in partnership with Johnson & Johnson, is hiring a Clinical Supply Chain Manager
The Clinical Supply Chain Manager position at J&J Innovative Medicine is responsible for managing worldwide distribution activities of clinical supplies, focusing on overseeing logistics providers, supporting clinical supply chain needs, and driving continuous improvement in global distribution networks. This role is highly autonomous, operates in a hybrid setting (2-3 days onsite in Horsham, PA or Titusville, NJ), and interacts regularly with quality assurance, procurement, compliance, and security teams, as well as other internal and external stakeholders.
This role is project-oriented, involving strategy-led activities and technical coordination. The manager will also lead logistics during GxP audits and health authority inspections, and manage relationships with logistics service providers.
- Manage and oversee operational performance of logistics providers, especially for Managed Access programs
- Serve as the main point of contact for logistics service providers
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Procurement to resolve issues and ensure corrective/preventive actions
- Prepare business plan budget forecasts and manage logistics budgets
- Lead analysis and onboarding of new logistics providers
- Identify and implement new logistics capabilities in emerging markets
- Provide subject matter expertise for clinical trial logistics
- Offer solutions for cold-chain, frozen, and narcotics logistics
- Collaborate with compliance and security teams to maintain logistics network integrity
- Support Quality in auditing logistics providers and leading strategic initiatives
- Build relationships with internal/external stakeholders across departments
- Lead/support logistics during GxP audits and health authority inspections
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years in supply chain (preferably logistics/operations).
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
- Experience with SAP Ariba, QEM Track Wise (Track Wise is the most relevant)
- Ability to interpret/understand dashboards like Tableau/Power BI (not required to create them)
- Familiarity with EDI-based shipment order processing is preferred
- General knowledge of GxP principles
- Demonstrated ability to manage complexity and deliver results in cross-functional, multicultural settings
- Experience in logistics/operations within healthcare or pharmaceutical supply chain
- Experience with ambient, cold, and frozen clinical supply distribution
- Strong operational/data analysis skills using KPIs and quality metrics
- Strategic thinking and proactive change management skills
Skills and Experience:
- Proven track record of change management in logistics/operations
- Advanced understanding of pharmaceutical/clinical supply distribution needs
- Background in IVRS or EDI-based shipment order processing
- Experience working with major global pharmaceutical companies, CROs, or logistics specialists serving the pharmaceutical industry
- Up-to-date industry knowledge, especially in cold-chain, frozen, and narcotics logistics management
