Production Manager, Operations Engineer
This key leadership role serves as the bridge between sales, production, procurement, and supply chain operations. The Production Control Manager is responsible for ensuring customer demand is translated into executable production and material plans while maintaining alignment across the organization. This individual will leverage data, analytics, and operational insights to drive planning decisions, improve execution, and ensure customer requirements are consistently met.
Responsibilities- Lead all production control and production planning activities to support customer demand and business objectives.
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on forecasted demand, customer orders, capacity constraints, and material availability.
- Partner with sales, operations, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment between customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
- Monitor production performance, inventory levels, material availability, and capacity utilization, proactively addressing potential risks.
- Drive data-driven decision‑making by analyzing operational metrics, forecasting trends, and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Translate complex planning and operational data into actionable insights for stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Serve as a central point of coordination between analytics, production, production planning, procurement, supply chain, and sales functions.
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures and planning processes.
- Establish and maintain key performance indicators related to production performance, inventory management, customer fulfillment, and operational efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning accuracy, inventory optimization, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure production and material plans support on‑time delivery commitments and overall business goals.
The ideal candidate comes from a small to mid‑sized manufacturing organization and has progressed through production planning, production control, and manufacturing operations/functions. This person understands how to connect customer demand, operational capabilities, procurement activities, and production execution into a cohesive plan that drives business performance and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in production planning, production control, manufacturing operations, supply chain, or materials management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production scheduling, inventory management, procurement coordination, and capacity planning.
- Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems to support production planning and operational decision‑making.
- Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret data and drive business decisions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present information to both operational teams and leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate across multiple departments.
- Experience developing processes, procedures, and operational best practices.
- Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, APICS/ASCM certifications, or related credentials are a plus.
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Certifications (CPIM or CSCP) are a plus.
- Strong data and analytical skills.
- Ability to Travel, it's required - up to 15%.
