Location:

Horsham, PA, US, 19044 Business Unit:
Sensor, Test & Calibration

The Assembler performs mechanical or electro-mechanical sub-assembly work. Direction is provided by verbal instructions or established assembly procedures. Requires simple adjusting and fitting of pre-finished parts. Uses simple hand tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs assembly operations either by wire bonding, soldering, spot welding, staking, or epoxying.
  • Performs assembly under a microscope.
  • Hand solders pins, cables, components, sub-assemblies, and completed units.
  • Operates ultrasonic welding apparatus.
  • Attaches various I.C.s, transistors, resistors, or thermistors to P.C. boards.
  • Performs oil fill operations.
  • Conducts tests for some final units.
  • Performs life testing programs utilizing a computer.
  • Provides training or instruction of co-workers and other employees when needed.
  • May operate turning-center-assisted tig welding to specific programs established by Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • May rotate to other workstations in the unit.
  • Meets or exceeds department's targets set by supervisor/managers
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Essential

Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience preferred
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time
  • Ability to follow workplace safety standards and company policies and procedures
  • Ability to work in a team setting and contribute to building a positive team spirit
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize meeting deadlines
  • Soldering experience (or Certificate) Preferred
  • Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with small parts
  • Work is typically performed at a bench and may include walking or standing some of the time
  • Basic computer skills
  • Minimum high school diploma or general education degree GED

Physical Demands:

  • Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with small parts
  • Work is typically performed at a variety of locations within the department (which includes walking or standing)
  • When possible reasonable accommodation may be made which would enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
  • When required, must be able to lift a minimum of 5 lbs and up to 50 lbs
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include but are not limited to: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
