Electrical Mechanical Assembler - Temp to hire

We are seeking someone with 3 years of recent electrical and mechanical assembly experience.

Pay Rate: $23-30/hr depending on experience

Hours:

1st shift 7AM-3:30PM Mon-Fri

The Electro-Mechanical Assembler is responsible for supporting assembly, test, and production work related to electro-mechanical devices. Tasks include electrical assembly, wire harness fabrication, circuit board component installation and other tasks essential to electro-mechanical component fabrication.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Operates hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment and light equipment
  • Works well with cross-functional teams
  • Observes safety and security procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions
  • Performs all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area
MAJOR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
  • Reads, understands, and follows engineering assembly drawings, bill of materials, manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and misc. supporting documentation
  • Wire harness fabrication utilizing wire splicing, crimping, Molex and Amp connector installation and soldering on a multitude of different connectors and cable types
  • Assembly and calibration of electro-mechanical products
  • Assembly and test of various mechanical systems using standard electronic test equipment
  • Electrical parameter checks on final assembly of electro-mechanical products
  • Monitors needs and metrics of assigned areas and recommends improvements
  • Recommends design changes on documents where applicable to actual wiring and mechanical build of chassis
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrates an exceptional work ethic and a desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Requires major hands-on application – approximately 50% of electrical/wiring of products (dressing and routing of cables, crimping, soldering, etc.) and 50% mechanical assembly time with the use of mechanical hand tools and measuring device
  • Wearing ESD grounding shoes and/or wrist strap is required while working inside assembly facility
  • Occasional lifting of unit of up to 50 pounds is required when performing and completing electro-mechanical assembly of chassis
  • Sitting occurs approximately 50% of the time and standing and walking on concrete floors occurs about 50% of the time.
  • Reaching occurs approximately 15% of the time while performing various job duties
  • Physical requirements include repetitious work, standing for extended periods of time, the use of stairs and occasional heavy lifting
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Associate degree or higher in Electronic Technology or related coursework is preferred
  • Must have basic experience with hand and power tools (cutters, strippers, crimpers, etc.), strong mechanical aptitude
  • Familiarity with Military/DoD, basic electronic experience, soldering to J-STD-001, familiarity with and capable of operating standard electronic test equipment; oscilloscopes, meters, frequency generators, etc., is preferred.
  • Typically possesses up to 5 years of experience in a technical and/or assembly environment.
