Director of Manufacturing
Job Description
The Director of Manufacturing will lead end-to-end manufacturing operations across assembly, sub-assembly, and test functions to achieve high standards of quality, delivery, safety, and business performance. This role drives operational excellence through continuous improvement, lean manufacturing practices, root cause investigations, and strategic product transition initiatives. The Director builds and develops high-performing teams, manages budgets and resources effectively, and fosters a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and innovation to support long-term organizational growth.
Responsibilities
+ Lead manufacturing operations across assembly, sub-assembly, and test functions to meet quality, delivery, safety, and business objectives.
+ Drive operational excellence by implementing continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
+ Oversee the manufacturing of large-scale, complex capital equipment, ensuring effective management of high-value products and extensive bills of materials.
+ Develop and execute strategic product transition initiatives to support long-term growth and scalability.
+ Establish and maintain robust processes for root cause investigation and corrective actions to resolve production issues and prevent recurrence.
+ Build, lead, and mentor high-performing teams, ensuring effective people management and strong leadership at all levels of manufacturing.
+ Manage budgets, resources, and capacity planning to optimize productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
+ Promote and enforce a strong culture of safety, ensuring compliance with safety standards and practices throughout manufacturing operations.
+ Champion a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across all manufacturing functions.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align manufacturing capabilities with business goals and customer requirements.
Essential Skills
+ Proven people management and team leadership skills, with experience leading large organizations of more than 100 people.
+ Extensive manufacturing experience, including hands-on leadership in assembly, sub-assembly, and test operations.
+ Experience in capital equipment manufacturing, particularly with large-scale products with an average selling price greater than $1 million.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage complex products with bills of materials exceeding 1,000 line items.
+ Background in semiconductor or electromechanical manufacturing environments.
+ Strong capability in driving continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
+ Experience conducting root cause investigations and implementing effective corrective actions.
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management.
+ At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in a large manufacturing organization.

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Horsham, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $225000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
