Regional Business Director – Lung Cancer (Northeast Region)

The Regional Business Director is a field-based leadership position responsible for leading and developing a team of District Managers and Sales Specialists who manage sales across Johnson & Johnson accounts. The role requires strong cross‑functional collaboration, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of oncology markets.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and retain a high‑performing team of District Managers and Sales Specialists.
  • Prioritize opportunities and optimize resources to improve sales results.
  • Develop and execute a business plan aligned with Johnson & Johnson brand strategies, ensuring compliant product sales growth and volume objectives.
  • Implement regional business strategies that support national objectives and brand strategies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to drive product adoption and market share.
  • Analyze regional market dynamics, competitive trends, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with internal partners (Sales Leadership, Brand, Strategic Customer Group, Pricing Strategy, Commercial Excellence, etc.) and external partners to develop optimal access and effective operating networks.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, legal and regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
  • Manage the regional budget and allocate resources to maximize business impact.
  • Coach others to build mutual alignment, embrace challenging positions, and achieve customer‑centric and company‑responsible outcomes.
  • Set overall account goals and objectives, lead development, and oversee account metrics and business performance.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Valid driver's license issued in any U.S. state.
  • Minimum of ten years of relevant work experience, including at least five years of cross‑functional experience in key commercial roles (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Strategic Marketing, Access/Payer, Analytics, or Business Development) within the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or healthcare industry.
  • Prior people‑management experience.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, coach, and engage high‑performing, diverse teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, including overnight and weekend travel.
  • Residency requirement:
    Candidate must reside within the stated region.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cross‑functional experience beyond sales and sales learning & development, including in‑line marketing and/or strategic marketing.
  • Healthcare industry experience, including pharmaceuticals.
  • Prior experience as a professional sales representative and/or District Manager.
  • Experience in oncology/solid tumor markets.
  • Lung Cancer experience is an additional plus.
Compensation and Benefits

Base Pay Range: $162,000 – $279,450 per year. The role is eligible for an annual performance bonus and long‑term incentive program.
