Job Overview
The Oncology Specialist (OS) in the CAR‑T franchise is a field‑based role reporting to a District Manager, responsible for building and maintaining relationships with CARYKTI® Certified Treatment Centers (CTCs) and community practices within the Greater Memphis, TN area and the state of Arkansas. The OS drives appropriate utilization of J&J’s CAR‑T therapy, delivers customer education, and executes local marketing strategies to meet sales objectives.

- Fulfill sales strategies by selling current and potential new oncology therapeutics.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the products' clinical efficacy, provide clinical support and achieve sales quota.
- Conduct business analysis and actively prospect new business within assigned territory.
- Develop account strategies with District Manager to increase sales in the assigned territory, identifying key accounts and HCPs.
- Create customer‑specific pre‑call and post‑call plans that include objectives, probes and supporting materials.
- Build and cultivate new customer relationships, influencing decision‑makers with targeted, accurate clinical messaging.
- Use approved sales and marketing materials and execute local marketing strategies.
- Maintain knowledge of reimbursement, sales potential, patient mix, managed‑care organizations, specialty pharmacies and new treatment modalities.
- Attend required sales meetings and complete training curriculum, healthcare compliance, expense reporting, and call reporting.
- Drive demand for CAR‑T therapy among institution‑based oncology customers and community‑based providers.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Operations, Quality and other stakeholders to address customer needs.
- Provide insights to cross‑functional teams on interactions with HCPs, account trends and therapeutic landscape changes.
- Lead safety and product education within the assigned geography.
- Allocate territory budget for customer contacts, educational grants, speaker events and other expenditures.
- Represent J&J at national and local symposiums and conventions.
- Work with urgency in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree with oncology specialty sales experience and/or major hospital account sales experience.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as necessary, including overnights and/or weekends.
- At least five (5) years of direct selling experience in pharmaceutical or biologic/biotech with documented success in achieving sales targets or relevant clinical experience.
- Experience in hospital and large account sales, with knowledge of complex reimbursement and managed‑care dynamics.
- Strong relationship‑building skills and ability to identify key decision makers.
- Strong motivation and achievement orientation to exceed goals.
- Residing in or willing to relocate to the assigned geography.
- Proficiency in virtual technology and experience conducting virtual face‑to‑face interactions.
- Travel willingness up to 60%, depending on territory size and account locations.
- Under‑18 candidates must obtain required working papers and parental consent per state law.
- Specialty sales experience in oncology, specifically hematology, cell therapy, and/or rare disease.
- Previous product launch experience in a highly competitive environment.
- Multiple myeloma experience.
- Strong clinical understanding of cell therapy and ability to manage complex treatment logistics.
- Experience handling complex reimbursement issues in hospital and large account settings.
