Job Description

Eurofins Environmental Testing Philadelphia seeks a Field Technician located in the Horsham, PA region. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with overtime as needed. Compensation ranges from $17–$20 per hour based on field experience, and full benefits are provided. The position requires operating a company vehicle.

Field Technician Responsibilities
  • Collect field samples within the assigned area from assigned clients.
  • Plan and complete daily assigned routes according to priorities; notify the supervisor of any changes.
  • Prepare and deliver sample containers and materials to various clients.
  • Transport, set up, utilize, troubleshoot, and break down sample collection/monitoring equipment.
  • Communicate directly with customers, providing clear and accurate information regarding their sample collection timeline and access requirements.
  • Provide routine updates to the supervisor and main laboratory throughout the route.
  • Perform on‑site testing when required, record all data, and submit required sample documents.
  • Transport samples from the field back to the laboratory, maintaining accurate custody documentation; occasionally coordinate with other technicians mid‑route.
  • Drive safely, observe all traffic laws, and maintain the assigned vehicle for cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Observe all OSHA safety requirements and company health and safety policies; do not enter confined spaces without approval.
  • Document all field sampling activity, maintaining complete and ethical logbook records.
  • Work assigned shift/hours, maintaining flexibility for overtime, weekends, or holidays as requested.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Working knowledge of monitoring well equipment (e.g., ready‑flow pumps, peristaltic pumps, proactive pumps).
  • Ability to navigate using vehicle GPS, roadmaps, and written directions.
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills; proficiency with Laboratory Information Management Systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, customer‑service oriented.
  • Capability to sit or stand for long periods and lift a 25‑pound object from the floor to a shelf five feet high.
  • Excellent time‑management skills and adaptability to shifting business priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with limited supervision, maintaining a positive and self‑motivated mindset.
  • Detail‑oriented with ability to learn new techniques, multitask, keep accurate records, and comply with company SOPs.
  • Experience with technical field equipment, including field meters, well pumps, auto samplers, tablets/software programs.
Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of experience in environmental and monitoring well sampling (preferred but not required).
  • High school diploma or equivalent; degree in environmental sciences, biology, chemistry, or earth sciences a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds; samples will be stored in ice‑cooled coolers.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
  • Professional working proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Information

The company will provide all required training and a vehicle for use during work hours.
