Job Description

Eurofins Environmental Testing Philadelphia is a full‑service environmental laboratory that has delivered analytical chemistry and microbiological services since 1943. The company offers a range of testing services to help clients meet regulatory and monitoring requirements.

We are seeking a Field Technician located in the Horsham, PA region.

Schedule:

Mon‑Fri 8:00 am‑5:00 pm with occasional overtime. Compensation: $17‑20 per hour plus full benefits. The position is outside the majority of the time and requires driving the company vehicle.

Field Technician Responsibilities
  • Collect field samples in assigned area from assigned clients.
  • Plan and complete daily assigned route in accordance with priorities; notify supervisor of any changes.
  • Prepare and deliver sample containers and materials to clients.
  • Transport, set up, troubleshoot, and break down sample collection/monitoring equipment.
  • Communicate directly with customers regarding sample collection timelines and access requirements.
  • Send updates to supervisor and main laboratory regarding timelines and sample/project status.
  • Perform on‑site testing when required; record data and submit all required documents.
  • Transport samples to the laboratory, maintaining accurate custody documentation; coordinate with other technicians as needed.
  • Drive safely, observe traffic laws, and maintain vehicle cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Observe all OSHA safety requirements and company health and safety policies.
  • Maintain documentation and records related to field sampling activity.
  • Work assigned shift/hours with flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as requested.
Ideal Candidate
  • Working knowledge of monitoring well equipment (ready flow pumps, peristaltic pumps, proactive pumps).
  • Ability to navigate using GPS, roadmaps, and written directions.
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills; experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
  • Comfortable standing or sitting for long periods; able to lift 25 pounds from the floor to a five‑foot shelf.
  • Strong time‑management and adaptability; able to shift priorities as business needs evolve.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with limited supervision.
  • Detail oriented; able to learn new techniques and keep accurate records.
  • Experience with field measurement meters, well pumps, auto samplers, tablets, and related software.
Basic

Minimum Qualifications
  • 2‑4 years of experience in environmental and monitoring well sampling (preferred but training available).
  • High school diploma or equivalent; degree in environmental sciences, biology, chemistry, or earth sciences is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
  • Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned.

The company will provide all required training and a vehicle for use during work hours.
