Overview

The ADDT Lead Instructor is responsible for overseeing the classes, including curriculum, scheduling, and working closely with the ADDT Program Coordinator/Director of Client Services. They will provide instruction to clients in activities designed to help develop and increase skills in various areas, including personal hygiene, grooming, leisure time, daily living skills, social relationships, pre-vocational skills, community awareness, occupations, and good health practices.

and Responsibilities
  • Oversee curriculum and all class schedules
  • Approves class activities/topics/curriculum/materials needed for classes in addition to other educational/engaging activities, along with getting input from ADDT Instructors, volunteers and prevocational production instructors
  • Assign, train, and oversee data monitors daily for accuracy and timeliness
  • Give input to instructors on creative ways to teach skills/test skills for data purposes
  • Participate in client assessments, planning, and assessments for the purpose of developing a program plan designed to meet the needs and wants of clients in their daily lives as written in the ITP
  • Break and lunch duty to ensure the safety and well-being of participants
  • Responsible for maintaining required 1/10 ratios within the classroom setting
  • Work closely with case managers with client behavior issues
  • Works directly with clients in classroom, directs and participates in all instructional activities
  • Turns in data at the end of each week, weekly lesson plans for the following week with attendance and billing hours for each client for the previous week. Quarterly progress reports as assigned
  • Contacts the supervisor regarding any incidents, behaviors, accidents or illnesses
  • Use general knowledge of educational practices, developmental disabilities and good interpersonal skills
  • Initiate programs and maintain required documentation with minimal supervision
  • Perform other related duties/assignments as required by supervisor or client services
  • Assist clients with bathroom needs/change clients  undergarments and/or clothing if needed
  • Support clients with daily living and vocational activities
  • Participate in client assessment, planning, and evaluation processes
  • As needed, attend regular staff meetings and participate in continuing education and training
Minimum Qualifications
  • 1 year of experience preferred supporting adults with intellectual developmental disabilities
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have an Arkansas Driver’s License
  • Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check and drug screen
  • Ability to keep accurate, current records
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, be flexible, helpful, follow instructions, and be a viable team player
  • To ensure the safety of program participants, employees must be mentally alert and physically able to quickly respond to the needs of the participants
  • Follow HIPAA privacy policy handles sensitive and confidential information
  • Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and physically provide a safety
