SUMMARY/OBJECTIVEThe Adult Education Instructor, under the direction of the Director of the Adult Education Program, will lead classes, provide individualized instruction and maintain documentation in accordance with state Adult Education guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Instructs students in specialized educational programs in classroom and laboratory settings, and develops and provides individual instruction as required.
- Interprets policies, programs and procedures related to the delivery of services.
- Seeks, selects and uses resources compatible with student/program needs.
- Implements a variety of strategies or approaches to meet the needs of students, including consulting with students, families and school staff, as necessary.
- Assess and documents attainment of program objectives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of subject matter being taught.
- Knowledge of educational planning and teaching techniques.
- Knowledge of learning aids and teaching materials appropriate to the subject matter.
- Ability to develop and teach students based on assessments and evaluation.
- Ability to evaluate progress and revise lesson plans as needed.
- Ability to provide advice and guidance relative to the education of the student.
- Must possess a valid AR Teacher's license.
- Must be able to work with students teaching reading, math, social studies, language and workplace skills.
- Ability to stand throughout the day.
