Job Description

Lakeside High School is seeking a qualified and motivated Sports Medicine Instructor to develop and teach a comprehensive sports medicine program while supporting the health, safety, and well‑being of student-athletes. This position will combine classroom instruction in sports medicine, anatomy, injury prevention, and related health sciences and could include athletic training responsibilities.

Contract days and salary will be prorated based on actual hire/start date.

Instructional Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach engaging sports medicine courses aligned with applicable state standards and curriculum requirements.
  • Provide instruction in anatomy and physiology, sports injuries, injury prevention, emergency care, rehabilitation, nutrition, and other sports medicine-related topics.
  • Provide students with hands‑on learning opportunities related to sports medicine and athletic training.
  • Develop and maintain course curriculum, lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials.
  • Maintain accurate student attendance, grades, and academic records.
  • Provide appropriate supervision and support for students participating in sports medicine activities.
  • Collaborate with other health science, physical education, and athletic staff to provide a comprehensive student learning experience.
Qualifications
  • Appropriate Arkansas teaching license or eligibility for licensure in the applicable sports medicine/health science area.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Experience working with student‑athletes, athletic programs, or sports medicine programs preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, coaches, administrators, and healthcare professionals.

Position Type: Full-Time
