Job Summary

A Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting physicians and other healthcare professionals in providing patient care services. They play a vital role in the smooth functioning of medical offices, clinics, and hospitals. This position requires a mix of administrative and clinical tasks that are critical to ensuring that quality patient care is provided.

Key Responsibilities

Greeting patients and escorting them to the exam rooms

Monitoring and recording vital signs of patients

Performing lab tests such as blood draws, urine tests, or EKGs

Assisting patients in completing medical history and insurance forms

Cleaning and sterilizing medical equipment

Maintaining patient records and documentation in electronic medical record (EMR)

Updating and maintaining inventory of supplies and medications

Assisting physicians with patient examinations and procedures

Communicating effectively with patients and families to provide education, instructions, and interpretation of medical information

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant certifications in medical assistant education

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the healthcare industry

Proficient in EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite (training available)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently while adhering to established protocols and procedures

Team player attitude with a customer service-oriented mindset
