Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide compassionate, high‑quality care that directly impacts patient well‑being and recovery. You will leverage your expertise to perform assessments, skilled procedures, and develop and implement patient care plans, collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing evaluations according to unit policy.
- Recognize significant changes in patient status and seek appropriate resources.
- Coordinate or collect physiologic monitoring data: vital signs, monitor results, laboratory and diagnostic test results.
- Document assessments and patient care information in compliance with hospital policy.
- Initiate the Patient Goal/Problem List or Clinical Path on admission and maintain the plan of care.
- Develop and adjust the Plan of Care to support patient goals and the medical plan of care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate and plan patient care provision.
- Obtain and verify all physician orders for procedures, medications, and therapies.
- Ensure consent and documentation for procedures, therapies, and research protocols are present.
- Ensure availability of appropriate supplies for ordered procedures or therapies.
- Perform or assist in procedures and therapies per policy and procedures.
- Assess patient medication needs before administration and verify allergies and incompatibilities.
- Administer, verify, and document medication according to hospital policy.
- Evaluate and document patient response to procedures, therapies, and medications.
- Monitor the patient care record for accuracy and completeness of data provided by the care team.
- Coordinate and document communication between patient, significant others, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Promote effective and wise use of resources, monitoring for cost containment.
- Facilitate appropriate length of hospital stay.
- Assess patient and significant other’s knowledge base, ability, and readiness to learn based on developmental age.
- Identify and utilize multidisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive education for patients, self, and others.
- Incorporate teaching principles and methods appropriate to the knowledge base, ability, and readiness to learn.
- Document patient education in the patient care record and evaluate the teaching process.
- Document staff education per policy.
- Participate in peer review activities.
- Provide learning opportunities and contribute to the orientation of team members, PRN personnel, and students.
- Identify and implement educational opportunities for staff.
- Serve as a preceptor and role model for new employees and students.
- Utilize conflict resolution to promote a cohesive team.
- Delegate assignments based on changes in census, staffing, patient, and unit needs.
- Enforce hospital/department specific policies.
- Maintain current knowledge of clinical and operational hospital policies and practice updates.
- Engage in a therapeutic relationship with patients and develop healthy interpersonal relationships among colleagues.
- Identify the most important needs to be met each shift within the context of available resources.
- Demonstrate accountability for individual nursing practice.
- Use the mechanisms of the Professional Nursing Shared Governance (PNSG) organization to address nursing matters.
- Participate in activities of the PNSG organization.
- Provide care to the patient population utilizing research findings and evidence based practice.
- Obtain required unit certifications within six months of hiring.
- Obtain CPI certification within three months of hiring (if required) and meet all unit‑specific yearly skill requirements within an acceptable time frame.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required upon hire.
- Registered Nurse: AR upon hire.
- Basic Life Support – CPR within 30 days.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 12 months.

Pay Range$32.38 – $43.68 per hour
