We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Security Supervisor.
Responsibilities- Ensure the safety and security of guests, team members, and company assets.
- Oversee, direct, train, and manage the performance of Security team members.
- Act to protect and safeguard assets of guests, team members and the company.
- Deliver excellent guest service in accordance with Oaklawn's Core Values and Standards of Behavior.
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures for guest service standards, fire prevention, emergency response, guarding and patrolling the property, orienting and monitoring personnel inside and outside the facility, and responding to accidents and criminal acts inside and outside the facility.
- Supervise security officers assisting with guest interactions and transactions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory controls.
- Enforce state casino laws, including identification and removal of underage persons from the casino floor.
- Respond to verbal and physical altercations and apply or direct the appropriate measures to resolve the situation.
- Adhere to scheduling and coordinate with manager on scheduling concerns.
- Enforce internal control policies and procedures, and compliance with underage gambling and drinking laws.
- Conduct regular security post inspections.
- Prepare security incident reports and maintain security logs.
- Ensure security team members adhere to uniform dress and grooming standards consistent with department and company standards.
- Patrol designated areas (on foot) to prevent theft, violence, safety issues, and hazards.
- Perform door checks to secure locked areas.
- Respond to all security calls and alarms in a timely manner.
- Operate communication equipment properly, safely, and according to company policy and procedure.
- Perform escorts of company funds safely, securely, and properly.
- Provide assistance, directions, and answer questions in a professional courteous manner.
- Stay informed of and follow safety and emergency action protocol.
- Complete all Security department paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of Oaklawn team members and guests.
- Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for team members and guests.
- Maintain strict confidentiality.
- Maintain a positive and professional image for Oaklawn at all times when performing duties or representing Oaklawn and encouraging others to do the same.
- Maintain an attitude and philosophy consistent with the company Core Values and Standards of Behavior with internal and external guests.
- Maintain regular punctual attendance.
- Work required overtime.
- Handle several tasks at the same time.
- Lead by example and act as an ethical and positive role model.
- Maintain a calm, professional and friendly demeanor in all situations.
- Provide sound and measurable backup to support any/all recommendations for change.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Adapts quickly to changing priorities.
- Provide superior guest service and interpersonal skills.
- Work independently and on a team, exercising good judgment in handling a variety of situations.
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Knowledge of Gaming Commission policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Knowledge of gaming, federal and state reporting requirements.
- Strong computer skills.
- At least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three or more years security or similar experience preferred.
- Two or more years supervisory experience.
- Guest service experience is a must.
- Ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts diplomatically.
- Ability to maintain a calm, professional and friendly demeanor in all situations.
- Ability to handle and defuse hostile, intoxicated or upset individuals professionally and calmly.
- Ability to use a hand‑held radio for communications.
