Building Maintenance Technician Summary

Assists in the maintenance of the Village’s buildings and structures owned and operated by the Hot Springs Village Property Owners Association. This will include all facilities and physical structures within the Village. Requires valid Arkansas driver’s license and clean driving record with proof of liability insurance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain components of physical facilities of the Hot Springs Village Property Owners Association (POA).
  • Have technical knowledge, ability, and training to:
    • Perform general carpentry, trim and related activities
    • Assist in performances of heating, cooling and refrigeration, roofing, and other general maintenance activities
  • Have general knowledge of electrical and plumbing.
  • Be able to climb ladders and clean roofs and gutters.
  • Must have general knowledge of sheetrock repair and painting.
  • Perform an inspection on all the facilities looking at the exterior and interior to identify problems or conditions not in good working order and produce a written report.
  • Work independently on any given task.
  • Be knowledgeable on OSHA safety regulations.
  • Maintain tools and equipment and use them properly.
  • Assist in maintenance of materials.
  • Assist in maintenance of inventory.
  • May be required to drive POA vehicle or personal vehicle while conducting POA business.
  • Regular attendance is required.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one‑ or two‑step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Requires a valid Arkansas driver’s license and clean driving record with proof of liability insurance.
