This is a flexible, part-time position at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home. We serve South Dakota Veterans and their families through quality health care in a environment of trust, dignity and sharing in our facility located in Hot Springs, South Dakota.
ResponsibilitiesThis position provides patient care within the scope of practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by preparing and administering prescribed medications and treatments, IV therapies, maintaining medical records, and monitoring work of subordinates to ensure quality care is provided and in compliance with patient care procedures and department policies. The role applies basic nursing principles, practices, and techniques following established healthcare procedures and standards.
Employees work in a patient care environment focused on healthcare of individuals, seek guidance from more experienced colleagues, and aim to gain knowledge and experience to perform more independently and participate in higher complexity work. Incumbent works in a long-term care setting at the South Dakota State Veterans Home.
Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or eligible to be licensed in the State of South Dakota.
The Ideal Candidate Will HaveAll certificates and/or tests required for performance at this level must be obtained and/or completed. On the job training is available.
