Description Logistics Manager

Fall River Health Services (FRHS) is seeking a Logistics Manager to lead and optimize our healthcare supply chain operations. This is an important leadership role responsible for ensuring our hospital and departments have the supplies they need to provide safe, high-quality patient care—when they need them.

The Logistics Manager will oversee inventory, receiving, warehousing, distribution, vendor relationships, and supply chain processes while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs.

What You'll Do
  • Lead daily shipping, receiving, warehouse, inventory, and distribution operations.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure critical supplies are available when needed.
  • Oversee inventory organization, storage, product rotation, and expiration management.
  • Monitor inventory usage and identify opportunities to reduce waste and unnecessary costs.
  • Coordinate with vendors and purchasing partners to ensure timely delivery of supplies.
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships and assist with pricing and contract negotiations.
  • Track and analyze inventory, supply costs, delivery times, and warehouse performance.
  • Identify process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, FIFO, JIT, ABC Analysis, and Root Cause Analysis principles.
  • Ensure supplies are stored, handled, and distributed safely and in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Monitor cold-chain requirements when applicable.
  • Work closely with nursing, clinical departments, administration, and other hospital teams to resolve supply concerns.
  • Supervise, train, coach, and develop warehouse and supply chain staff.
  • Respond to urgent supply needs and help ensure uninterrupted hospital operations.

Qualifications include:

  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, inventory management, warehousing, purchasing, or a related field.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn and use inventory and supply chain software.
  • Knowledge of inventory management practices and methodologies such as FIFO, JIT, ABC Analysis, Lean, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with clinical staff, leadership, vendors, and employees at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a rural healthcare community.
