American Traveler is hiring a Charge Nurse RN for a Long Term Care position requiring an active SD or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

• Work in a Long Term Care (LTC) setting providing charge nurse coverage
• Provide general nursing care to residents and supervise Nursing Assistants
• Varied day and evening shift schedule
• 13-week assignment with 40 guaranteed hours

• Active SD or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• BLS certification required
• Skilled in IV therapy including initiating IVs, administering initial medications, and managing central lines and catheters

• Perform nursing assessments and develop resident care plans based on nursing diagnoses
• Coordinate with physicians and family members to ensure resident care needs are met
• Administer and chart routine and emergency medications and treatments
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation for continuity of care
• Follow safety and infection control procedures to maintain a safe environment
• Serve as primary point of contact on assigned shift and supervise resident assistants
• Participate in facility Quality Management program as part of the interdisciplinary team
