Fall River Health Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Acute Care team. This position offers the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care in a supportive hospital environment that values teamwork, professional growth, and clinical excellence.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Acute Care unit, you'll deliver and coordinate high-quality nursing care using the nursing process — assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. You'll provide hands-on patient care and delegate appropriate duties to supervised staff members, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients. This is a fast-paced, rewarding position ideal for nurses who are passionate about acute care and making a meaningful impact on patients' lives every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective nursing care in accordance with the South Dakota Nurse Practice Act, facility policies, and professional standards.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans involving patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Administer medications, fluids, and respiratory treatments as prescribed.
• Recognize and interpret patient symptoms; report and respond promptly to changes in condition.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient status, interventions, and outcomes.
• Teach patients and families about medications, treatments, and ongoing care after discharge.
• Organize time and prioritize tasks effectively to provide timely patient care.
• Ensure infection control and safety policies are followed consistently.
• Provide leadership and guidance to assigned staff, ensuring continuity and quality of care.
• Assist in the orientation and training of new team members.
• Participate in continuing education to maintain and enhance professional competence.
• Support a positive and collaborative work culture through effective communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Dakota (or eligible for reciprocity).
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement.
• Prior acute care or hospital nursing experience preferred, but not required.
