RN - LTC

The Charge Nurse RN will provide general nursing care to residents as part of the Long Term Care team. The role involves contributing to resident care in accordance with care plans, facility policies, and professional standards. The RN will also directly supervise Nursing Assistants.

• Make nursing assessments regarding the health status of residents and develop nursing diagnoses to guide care.
• Develop and implement a nursing care plan based on assessments and evaluate resident responses to interventions.
• Coordinate outside physician visits to meet residents' medical needs.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and family members to ensure resident needs are met.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on the residents' care plans.
• Promote and implement the philosophy of resident rights and choices.
• Prepare, administer, and chart medications and treatments as ordered, demonstrating knowledge of medications and their side effects.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in clinical records for continuity of resident care.
• Implement safety and infection control procedures to maintain a safe environment for residents and staff.
• Participate in Quality Management programs as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Function as the primary contact person during the assigned shift and supervise resident assistants to ensure compliance with care plans.
• Demonstrate IV therapy skills, including initiating IVs and managing central lines.
