Weed Sprayer (Temporary)This is a part-time job with variable days and hours subject to contracted work and weather conditions. The work period is May through October.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years or older, possess a driver’s license, be able to lift 50+ lbs, and be physically fit to bend, squat, lift, and walk extensively. Must obtain SD commercial pesticide applicator licenses for General and Right-of-Way. Experience with maintenance of small engines and pump systems preferred. Ability to apply herbicides/pesticides and operate ATV/UTV vehicles, pickups, and trailers; ability to read maps and legal descriptions;
ability to work independently; positive attitude; desire to learn.
Salary: $11.20 – $13/hour depending on experience.

The Fall River County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for Correctional Officers. Ideal applicants have good moral character, good physical condition, and interest in serving their community.
Upon hire, correctional officers undergo on-the-job training to prepare them to supervise inmates.

911 Dispatcher (Permanent)The Fall River County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for full-time 911 dispatchers. Starting wage: $20.25/hour (uncertified) or $22.25-$23.25 (certified).
Shifts:

Responsibilities:
Receive incoming radio and phone calls, keyboard entry into computer-aided dispatch system, dispatch multiple calls simultaneously, and maintain composure and respect under pressure.
Requirements:
Multi-task with accurate typing (35 words per minute) and computer skills. Ability to remain calm and maintain composure in stressful situations. Must possess the ability to think clearly; act quickly; and remain calm in a wide variety of situations. SD State Certification for radio dispatching required. Training will be provided in Pierre, SD.
Other requirements:
Medical physical (UA and hearing test), fingerprinting, and background check.
