This is a part-time job with variable days and hours subject to contracted work and weather conditions. The work period is May through October.

Requirements:
Must be 18 years or older, possess a driver’s license, be able to lift 50+ lbs, and be physically fit to bend, squat, lift, and walk extensively. Must obtain SD commercial pesticide applicator licenses for General and Right-of-Way. Experience with maintenance of small engines and pump systems preferred. Ability to apply herbicides/pesticides and operate ATV/UTV vehicles, pickups, and trailers; ability to read maps and legal descriptions;

ability to work independently; positive attitude; desire to learn.

Salary: $11.20 – $13/hour depending on experience.

The Fall River County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for full-time 911 dispatchers. Starting wage: $20.25/hour (uncertified) or $22.25-$23.25 (certified).

Shifts:

Responsibilities:
Receive incoming radio and phone calls, keyboard entry into computer-aided dispatch system, dispatch multiple calls simultaneously, and maintain composure and respect under pressure.

Requirements:
Multi-task with accurate typing (35 words per minute) and computer skills. Ability to remain calm and maintain composure in stressful situations. Must possess the ability to think clearly; act quickly; and remain calm in a wide variety of situations. SD State Certification for radio dispatching required. Training will be provided in Pierre, SD.

Other requirements:
Medical physical (UA and hearing test), fingerprinting, and background check.
