The Services required are set out as follows:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Science laboratories and preparation room.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe laboratory environment.
- Prepare, set up and clear equipment, apparatus, specimens and materials for practical lessons, demonstrations and experiments.
- Work closely with the HOD/Science and teachers to prepare resources for curriculum lessons, enrichment programmes and ad hoc Science activities.
- Provide support during practical lessons where required.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, apparatus, models and teaching resources in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate inventory, stock, usage and breakage records.
- Conduct annual stocktaking and recommend the purchase or replacement of equipment and consumables.
- Support the procurement of Science apparatus, equipment and consumables by monitoring stock levels, preparing purchase requests, obtaining quotations where required, verifying deliveries and updating inventory records.
- Report faulty or damaged equipment promptly.
- Ensure the safe storage, handling and proper record-keeping of chemicals.
- Maintain laboratory safety equipment and report safety hazards immediately.
- Uphold safe laboratory practices and comply with school safety procedures.
- Manage the distribution and collection of Science teaching and learning resources, including teachers' desk copies.
- Support Science-related programmes such as E2K, Green Club, STEM activities and other departmental initiatives.
- Perform other laboratory-related duties assigned by the HOD/Science or School Leaders.
